A bad week for Manchester United grew even worse on Saturday with their defeat at the hands of Brighton.

Already shaken by the public falling out involving boss Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho - as well as the accusations surrounding Antony - a win would have been the perfect tonic for the Red Devils. Brighton were not in the mood though.

Goals from Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro secured victory at Old Trafford, with Hannibal Mejbri converting a consolation. It leaves United languishing in the lower reaches of the Premier League with three defeats from five games. Take a look at all of the headlines from that game and more:

Ten Hag rejects "crisis" claim

Red Devils manager Ten Hag has refused to admit that his side are currently embroiled in a crisis following their defeat to Brighton. Speaking after the full-time whistle against Brighton, the Dutchman said: “Crisis is not a fair word about where we are.

“This was not our day. But we have to be very disappointed and very annoyed with ourselves because at United the demand is you win games. Today, I saw we played well and if you analyse the first half it's crazy. We started well and created chances. On their second attack and with their first chance it’s in, but we have to do better.”

Fans boo Hojlund exit

Man United supporters were left furious with Ten Hag’s decision to substitute Rasmus Hojlund during Saturday’s defeat to Brighton. The Dane was handed his first start since his summer move from Atalanta against the Seagulls.

He looked like he had scored his first goal for the club, too, only for VAR to intervene. Hojlund’s full debut only lasted just over an hour before he was replaced by Anthony Martial. Red Devils’ fans at Old Trafford were disgusted with that decision and let their dismay be known. They roundly booed the substitution.

Sancho reveals Red Devils' stance

Despite being banned from the first team, Jadon Sancho still appears to be throwing his backing behind the Red Devils. The former Borussia Dortmund winger is no longer training with the side following his very public falling out with Ten Hag.

Ahead of Saturday’s defeat to Brighton, he offered his support to United’s under-18 side as they tackled Nottingham Forest at Carrington. Jack Kingdon and Victor Musa both scored to secure a 2-1 victory.
