Strictly Come Dancing viewers think the winner might already be obvious, after the new series launched on Saturday night.

Viewers were introduced to the celebrities for the first time, with all 15 briefly showing off their moves. The judges got their first glimpses of the stars and their dancing abilities, as did viewers tuning in at home.

The stars on the line-up this year include Zara McDermott, Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi and Angela Scanlon. Also competing are Adam Thomas, Nikita Kanda, Ellie Leach, Jody Cundy CBE, Bobby Brazier, Nigel Harman, Annabel Croft and Les Dennis.

All of the celebs were given a pro dance partner, and it will up to the pro to train their celebrity in a bid to win the Glitterball Trophy. But fans think one star in particular might already be on their way to winning the crown.

As each star graced the dance floor, viewers believed there were clues as to how they will all do during the series. Fans quickly guessed that former EastEnders actor Nigel would storm to victory with his pro partner Katya Jones. As soon as the pair were seen together and Nigel took to the dance floor, fans were convinced the Dennis Rickman actor was going to win.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "Nigel and Katya - early winner?" as another guessed: "My prediction is Nigel and Katya will win." A third fan added: "Dennis from Eastenders (I will always call him this) to win," while a fourth said: "Nigel and Katya my winners Idc." The comments kept coming too with one reading: "NIGEL AND KATYA STRICTLY WINNERS 2023 I JUST KNOW IT."

Meanwhile, the pro dancers taking to the stage this year are Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Karen Hauer, Katya, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Giovanni Pernice, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vita Coppola. Some of them will be performing solo routines and group performances only, while the rest are paired with a celebrity.

Show favourite Amy Dowden will not be on the series this year, after sharing she had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. Amy had hoped to feature on the show but after treatment, she learned she had another type of cancer after more tests. Amy recently updated fans on how her treatment was going, and on having to miss the series - something viewers were gutted by. The show favourite recently reunited with her fellow pros, for a special pre-recorded group dance with her featuring in the photoshoot.

Strictly Come Dancing kicks off next Saturday and Sunday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
