As part of the investigation, which will air on Channel 4's Dispatches tonight (September 16) at 9pm, assault claims include those from a woman who was in her 20s when she met Brand at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting before they started working together. She's renamed Phoebe in the investigation, and she described how she had a brief sexual relationship with him before he later allegedly attacked her in 2013.

Afterwards, Phoebe alleges that Brand, after becoming aware of her allegation, cornered her and threatened her with legal action to silence her claims. Phoebe claims she did not formally report the incident, over worries about how it could affect her career.

The alleged victim's claims join the testimony of three other women, including one who alleges Russell Brand assaulted her when he was 31 and she was 16 and still at school. She claims that she and Brand had a relationship spanning three months describing Brand’s behaviour as "grooming". She also claims he became "preoccupied" with her being innocent and pure after finding out she was a virgin and he would be taking her virginity.

In response to the allegations, Russell has denied all allegations and has said his relationships have all been consensual. He said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.

"But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks, often very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous."

Channel 4 Dispatches will air at 9pm on Saturday 16th September on Channel 4.
