Dana White admits son stopped talking to him after he slapped his wife

UFC boss Dana White has revealed his son didn't talk to him for four days after the UFC chief slapped his wife on New Year's Eve.

The head honcho was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons at the beginning of the year when he was caught on film arguing with his Anne whilst on holiday in Mexico. Anne could be seen slapping White before he slapped her back twice in the heated altercation, with White later condemning his actions by admitting there was no excuse for what he did.

The incident affected White's relationship with his 21-year-old son Aidan as the UFC president told Piers Morgan Uncensored: "Our oldest son didn't talk to us for like four days, and the other kids had to deal with some stuff too," White "It's embarrassing. Nobody wants to see their dumb drunk parents slapping each other on TMZ, do you know what I mean? Everybody was acting like there needs to be some big apology to the world.

"No, the apology was to my kids, for me and my wife. The only apology that needed to be made was to our children, and the only relationships that needed to be handled immediately, was between us and our kids, and we did it, we handled it and we got through it as a family."

White spoke about the incident with his bosses at ESPN and Endeavor, the parent company which owns the UFC. The 54-year-old refuted suggestions for him to take a hiatus from his role as UFC boss, insisting that his biggest punishment is having to live with what he did for the rest of his life.

Several UFC fighters came to the defence of White such as former light-heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill and bantamweight titleholder Sean O'Malley, with Dustin Poirier being the first to condemn his boss. Comments White made almost a decade prior came back to haunt him as he admitted you can "never bounce back" after hitting a woman.

White added of the situation: "It's definitely not fun, but it's something that, you know, as a man, you have to stand up and you have to deal with it and handle your business, take your lumps and deal with whatever comes with it. Like I said, the most important part of it is to handle it as a family first. As long as you get your family straight, I could give a s*** what everybody else thinks."
