Meghan Markle's fears over Prince Harry's wild birthday plans to 'let off steam'

Prince Harry is reportedly planning on returning to his wild partying ways as he plans his 39th birthday bash, but his wife Meghan Markle is less than pleased and is worried that it could lead to more backlash on social media.

In his younger years, Prince Harry earned himself quite the reputation as a party prince and was often pictured outside some of London's hottest nightclubs. He also enjoyed partying at his dad King Charles' Highgrove home as a teen and reminisced on "innocent snogging and not-so-innocent drinking" at his own private nightclub, Club H, in his memoir Spare. He also opened up about the infamous naked pictures of him that emerged during a wild holiday to Las Vegas in 2012.

And now, according to sources close to the couple, Harry is planning to "let off steam" again after a stressful few months, after their Sussex brand "took a hit," following the axing of their Spotify deal and the circulation of false rumours regarding the supposed breakdown of their marriage.

"Harry's suggested a boy's bash in Las Vegas or Mexico but Meghan's told him that is a madness from a PR perspective," a source told Heat magazine. "She's worried they'd get torn to pieces on social media and in the press. Instead she's suggested a sedate affair at their home in Montecito or maybe a fancy lunch somewhere local."

"Meghan didn't make a big deal of her birthday last month so she doesn't see why Harry feels the need to go crazy for his," the insider continued. The Duchess of Sussex has also been "working hard to repair their reputation" as they eye up new career avenues.

The pair are currently in Dusseldorf, Germany for the Invictus Games, but the start of their appearances seemed to be rocky as Meghan arrived separately to Harry. However, as she took to the stage to address the crowd, she shared the relatable reason as to why she arrived late to the event.

"Hi everybody, it is so special to be here and I'm sorry that I was a little late to the party," she started. "Just like so many of you, we know this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created and the Fisher House has created.

"I had to spend a little more time getting our little ones settled at home and get them to drop off. Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you. It is amazing and I hear it has got off to a good start so far."
