Harry was nervous at the Invictus Games, according to an expert

Meghan Markle arrived to the Invictus Games with confidence, but Prince Harry appeared incredibly anxious in her shadow, an expert has claimed.

Darren Stanton, a body language expert from Betfair Slots, told The Mirror: "Harry was seen playing with his ring finger, which is a self reassurance gesture. This type of gesture is generally used when someone is feeling nervous. From Meghan’s point of view, she did show pride and feeling immensely confident in front of the audience."

The royal couple made a joint appearance at the games, but Meghan only arrived just hours before the speech. Harry, on the other hand, spent the entirety of the Games in Germany, having opened them at the ceremony.

Darren believes that Harry was nervous when he reunited with Meghan. He was "holding back" on stage while "she gave very positive, confident body language". In fact, he referred to the appearance as "the Meghan show" and cited her open palm gestures, eye contact, and voice tone.

However, she didn't appear to offer the same support to him that she has at prior engagements which may be a sign that their "relationship has evolved". While Darren confirmed that Meghan radiated with "pride" as she "put her hands to her mouth" and smiled during his speech, she did not provide "power gestures", which she typically does.

He explained: "She would previously put her hand on his back and guide him by his elbow. However, in recent months, there has been a dramatic decrease in the demonstration of these types of gestures, where she is trying to assert her power."

This new power balance comes after separation rumours and speculation rumbled. When the pair started working on separate projects, one of which being Harry's Heart of Invictus docuseries with Netflix, some questioned if it was a sign their relationship was fragmenting. When Meghan didn't arrive to Germany at Harry's side, it only fueled the flames of the rumours.

Even though a friend of the couple reportedly insists that there is no truth to the rumours, her delayed arrival and absent wedding ring reopened the conversation. Thankfully, a relationship expert previously told The Mirror: "It's very unlikely that Harry would ever divorce Meghan. Divorce in Royal circles very much frowned upon, although it happens of course."
