Hollyoaks' Rayne to be murdered in grisly whodunnit as Jemma Donovan leaves role
Hollyoaks' Rayne Royce is to be dramatically killed off on the Channel 4 soap later this month, with the actress who plays her Jemma Donovan leaving the show.
The soap has confirmed a chilling murder mystery will rock the village during the big stunt week later this month, resulting in the death of social media influencer Rayne. The character has been causing chaos in the village for the past nine months, but she's set to meet a grisly end.
Scenes in the lead-up will see her burn bridges and create an enemy out of almost everyone, as a group of residents head to a manor for Rayne's latest party. Just as she attempts to further her career once more, it seems she has no one on her side as a game of murder mystery sees all of the participants pick Rayne to be killed.
But game soon turns to reality, when one mystery character murders Rayne during the big week. A new trailer teasing the big moment sees her face her comeuppance in the most brutal fashion.

Speaking about her exit and the huge new storyline, Jemma said: "You guys, it’s going to be full of drama, full of love, full of chaos but the big question is, who did it? I’m so excited for the speculation. I can’t tell you – but it’s a good one so hope you all enjoy." The former Neighbours actress is bowing out of the role after joining the show last year. She is currently dating her co-star Owen Warner, who plays her onscreen boyfriend Romeo Nightingale.
The big week comes as Hollyoaks announced a shake-up to its scheduling, with it being dropped from Channel 4 after 28 years. Hollyoaks will now air daily on E4 at 7pm as usual, before the next episode will drop on the Channel 4 streaming service. Fans will be able to watch the next episode a day in advance, while no episodes will air on Channel 4 from the end of September.
