Morning Live's Helen Skelton steps in as Angela Rippon drops Strictly spoiler
Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Rippon sent TV show Morning Live into utter chaos after she accidentally let the cat out of the bag to reveal a Strictly spoiler.
Angela, 78, appeared on the show to discuss all things Strictly but didn't realise that she had in fact revealed the gender of her dance partner. Viewers will find out who is partnered with who on in a few days when the pre-recorded launch episode is on air on Saturday 16 September. On the back of Angela's blunder, viewers noticed that Helen desperately tried to disguise her blunder. Co-host Gethin Jones had asked Angela if she was happy with her partner.

And she responded by saying: "I adore him! He is super, I love him". And it was at this point that co-host Helen Skelton jumped into to correct the damage and said: "Or her!"
But the star appeared fully unaware of her mistake and replied: ""No, no!" Despite Helen's best efforts she was then forced to remind Angela that she was not meant to reveal anything about her partner - not even their gender. Helen said: "We can't say, we never know, we are not allowed to give any clues!"
Angela then finally twigged and said: "Oh, alright!" But the funny side was eventually seen by all as both Gethin and members of the audience laughed at the situation. The bluder comes on the back of the celebrity pairings being leaked online - just days before the show starts.
Emmerdale's Amy Nuttall supported by pals after split from Andrew Buchan
Morning Live hosts Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones tried to mask Angela Rippon's blunder (BBC)But one person who has been klleft fuming for a very different reason is professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova. When she found out that she had not been paired with anyone sources exclusively told the Mirror:"Nadiya lives and breathes Strictly, and so to hear that she wouldn’t have a celebrity partner this year was crushing for her. She was both gutted, and very, very angry. She has come to terms with it over the past few weeks, and will do her best to support Kai during the series. But it was devastating news for her.”
And a fan post a comment on Nadiya social media page that read: “I can’t believe (they) treat you like c***. I thought this would finally be your year to get to the final and win. What’s wrong with you @BBCStrictly producers?” The dancer liked the comment and responded with a "thank you" alongside a white heart emoji.
Nadiya, who was paired with Matt Goss last year, is thought to have been overlooked in favour of Luba Mushtuk - as only one taller female dancer was need for the cast this year. However, Luba has not had a celeb partner since 2020, but she has been supporting the Strictly cast, and dances on the tour every year.
And the news has clearly made an impact on Nadiya as she was seen looking glum at the National Television Awards after-party. The star turned down the opportunity of dancing in Strictly's live show this year and opted to join Kai on their own joint tour.
