Love Island was at risk of being thrown into chaos as a wildfire ripped through fields next to the villa in South Africa.

Fire crews reportedly rushed to the scene to get the firing inferno under control just two fields away from the Love Island villa.

Insiders claim the show bosses were on high alert and had an evacuation plan in place if the fire got out of hand.

ITV have confirmed a fire brigade attended a fire in the local area but that the incident didn't take place on villa grounds.

Luckily the entire Love Island cast and crew are safe and managed to stay out of the fire's way.

"Fire crews were rushed to Ludus Magnus estate after a wildfire broke out just two fields away from the villa," a source told The Sun.

“The winds were pretty high so there were concerns the blaze could move towards the villa but the fire crews managed to get it under control.

“Naturally the welfare of everyone on the show is the main priority and an evacuation plan has been put in place if it’s needed."

A spokeswoman for ITV said: “A fire brigade has attended a fire in the local area.

“The incident is not on the Villa grounds. Love Island cast and crew are completely safe.”

Meanwhile, Love Island star Martin Akinola didn’t mince his words after being brutally dumped from the ITV dating show on Friday night.

The Irish hunk – a good pal of last year’s Love Islander Dami Hope – learned he was going home when Tanya Manhenga chose to couple back up with Shaq Muhammad.

But poor Martin had no idea Tanya was planning on dumping him as he said she didn’t give him a ‘head’s up’.

Instead he found out about her decision in the final minutes of the show which meant he was going home.

In his exit interview, the 27-year-old software engineer from Dublin threw shade at Tanya and Shaq saying he didn’t think their relationship was genuine.

He said: “Genuinely, I think Shaq might be in love with her. But I don’t think she’s in love with him.”

And Martin doesn’t think the couple will work on the outside – saying Tanya, especially, will find it hard to resist temptations.

Explaining how he felt about Tanya’s brutal dumping, Martin continued: “She followed her heart – which was fair enough – but she went about it the wrong way.

“That’s what I had a problem with. I felt like I needed to know before her little speech at the bridge.

“She should have told me earlier and given me a head’s up. I feel I deserved that little bit of respect. I didn’t get that. That’s why the row happened.”

*Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and catch up on ITV X.
