Iceland is a popular destination during the winter months, as Brits head north to capture a glimpse of the Northern Light phenomenon.

The capital city of Reykjavik is renowned for its stunning landscapes, including geothermal springs, glaciers and volcanoes, but it is also known to be a pricey destination for Brits on a budget. With Wizz Air offering flights starting from as little £15.89 in November, seeing the northern lights up close and personal could be an affordable reality this winter.

The northernmost capital city is also home to a rich cultural scene and a thriving arts and music community, as well as iconic landmarks such as the Hallgrímskirkja Church and the colourful houses along the waterfront.
