Piers Morgan fumes after National Television Awards defeat as he's booed
Piers Morgan was clearly unimpressed after his National Television Awards defeat and being booed by the audience last night.
The journalist was nominated for Best Interview but was pipped to the post by The Graham Norton Show, which he wasn't too happy about. However, this wasn't the only blow he was dealt as he was also booed twice while sitting in the audience.
He took to Twitter to talk about being booked by "shrieking banshees" as well as complaining about not winning an award.
The 58-year-old broadcaster flashed a smile when host Joel Dommett, 38, pointed him out in the audience. But when cameras cut to the former Good Morning Britain host, the live arena audience erupted into boos.

However, it wasn't the only time he was booed as half an hour later a clip of his interview with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also prompted the audience to erupt into boos.
Reacting to his loss and the negative reaction he got, Piers took to his Twitter page where he said: "Got the Tube in searing heat.. got mocked by a host I’ve never heard of… got booed by an audience of shrieking banshees… got beaten by Graham bloody Norton.. and now getting the first limo I can find to get the hell outta here. Thanks for a great night @OfficialNTAs."
Piers also faced off against Louis Theroux and his BBC documentary series Louis Theroux Interviews... and comedian Chris Ramsey and his wife for their BBC show The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show.
Before his defeat, Piers was seen larking around on the red carpet ahead of the awards as he joked with fellow presenter Dermot O’Leary, 50, who he jokingly pretended to fight.
He was also seen with his former Good Morning Britain co-star Susanna Reid, with the pair posing for a photo together outside the O2.
