Love Island's Mitch admits why he split from Ella B in savage dig

Love Island star Mitchel Taylor has broken his silence and confirmed the reason for his split from Ella Barnes.

The couple revealed that they have called time on their romance earlier today (August 31) just a few weeks after leaving the villa. Mitch, 27, took to Instagram to set the record straight on their break-up after their fans were left reeling from the shock news. He also confirmed the real reason behind their split with his post. He wrote: "As you have most likely seen Ella's post sadly our relationship has come to an end.

"We had no intentions of ending but with our busy lives at the moment and living the other side of the country it made it extremely hard for it to work.I wish Ella nothing but the best as she is a lovely girl and deserves the world."

Ella, 23, also addressed the end of the relationship in her own post. She wrote: "Just wanted to come on here and keep you all updated, as you deserve to know as I wouldn’t be where I am without you. Unfortunately myself and Mitch have decided to end our relationship. I really wanted things to work out and I’m gutted that our journey has come to an end. I wish Mitch all the best and hope he finds happiness. It’s time for both of us to start a new chapter."

Meanwhile, Abi Moores - who Mitch was at one point coupled up with in the villa - has claimed that he had flirted with her behind Ella's back. She told OK! Magazine: "I do think there is still something there with Mitch - he's still quite flirty, and very close and friendly with me, when I've seen him out at events.

"I think Ella B is a bit threatened by me saying that we had a better connection - but I'm not going to lie." Asked if she would consider rekindling her romance with Mitch Abi replied: "Never say never."

Mitch and Ella came under fire from Love Island fans earlier this month thanks to their appearance together on the ITV2 reunion show. Despite the now former couple putting on a loved-up display when chatting to host Maya Jama and fellow islanders, viewers were quick to accuse the pair of indulging in a showmance.

"Sorry but Mitch and Ella feel so fake #loveisland," one fan penned on Twitter (aka X) as the show aired on August 7, with another adding: "#Ellab and #Mitch clearly saw what we all said about them being sat a mile apart at #Aftersun cos they're glued to each other now lol. Surely they know we can see right through this. Mitch and Ella are so fake."
