Charles Spencer paid tribute to his sister Princess Diana on the anniversary of her death with a touching new photo.

Earl Spencer, 59, took to Twitter to share the picture of himself as a child alongside his sister who had her arm placed gently over his shoulder in the adorable snap. The pair both wore sandals with white ankle socks in the image, with Diana wearing a pink and white striped summer dress, while her brother was dressed in blue shorts and a grey and blue striped polo shirt.

Today, August 31, marks the 26th anniversary of Diana's death in 1997. She was tragically killed alongside boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed and their driver Henry Paul when the car they were travelling in crashed in the Alma underpass in Paris.

Your sister was a blessing and she is an inspiration to me and so many of us. 'I think the biggest disease the world suffers from in this day and age is the disease of people feeling unloved.' - Princess Diana."

A second added: "Adorable photo. Diana was so lovely and I’m sure the best big sister, too. I grew up loving Diana like most of this world did. You help keep her goodness and spirit alive by being the person you are. Thank you for that."
