Aaron Rodgers showed a different side to his game in his most recent appearance for the New York Jets.

The veteran quarterback is preparing for his first season with the Jets, after being traded from the Green Bay Packers back in April. Rodgers had spent 18 years in Wisconsin, but will now be playing his football in New Jersey.

The four-time MVP has begun his new career with the Jets, and made his first appearance during the pre-season game against the New York Giants on August 26 at MetLife Stadium as the Jets claimed a 32-24 win over the Giants, in what was the final warm-up game of the summer.

Rodgers started in what was his first pre-season appearance since 2018. He completed 5-8 passes for 47 yards with one touchdown pass and zero interceptions.

As part of the Jets’ pre-season preparations, the team has been the subject of HBO’s documentary series ‘Hard Knocks’. Behind-the-scenes footage has been used from the Jets during training camp, as well as at the team’s pre-season games.

The documentary’s film crew was in action last week for the game against the Giants. And now footage has emerged which showed a different side to Rodgers’ game.

During one play, Rodgers attempts to throw a pass to Mecole Hardman. After the QB let go of the ball, he was lightly shoved by Giants linebacker Jihad Ward.

It was here where Rodgers took exception to the shove from Ward, and had words with the Giants linebacker. Rodgers could be heard saying: "Show some respect, bro.

Rodgers then added: "C'mon, what the [bleep] is that? Five damn steps? I don't even know who you are, bro."

Ward could then be heard saying to Rodgers that he did not know who the Jets quarterback was. And this was not the only interaction captured on film between the duo.

After Rodgers completed the touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson, the Jets quarterback had some more words for Ward. He went up to the Giants defender and said: “Don’t poke the bear."

Subsequent footage later showed Rodgers on the sidelines talking to his teammates about the interaction with Ward. Rodgers provided some insight into what actually happened on the field.

“I threw that ball and he f*****g took five steps and pushed me,” Rodgers said.

“Then I gave him a line that’s un-come-back-with-able. I said, ‘I don’t even know who you are.’ And he said, ‘I don’t know who you are.’ And I said, ‘B******t.”

Rodgers and the Jets will now be busy for the opening game of the 2023 NFL regular season. The Jets begin their campaign in Week One against AFC East divisional rivals the Buffalo Bills on Monday, September 11.
