You don't have to have attended a wedding before to know there is often a strict 'don't wear white' rule when it comes to outfit choices for female guests. It stems from a long tradition of the bride usually wearing white, with the thought process being not to upstage her on her big day.

However, it seems this memo didn't reach one wedding guest who turned up in the same outfit the bride had wore to her bridal shower weeks before the wedding took place. The bride, who has shared her anger over the "difficult" wedding guest, has claimed this person was the only one who turned up in an 'off-white' coloured outfit.

In a recent Reddit post, the bride said the guest was difficult during the wedding planning stages and detailed how she had failed to RSVP for her bridal shower or the wedding itself. She wrote: "I could not help but notice Alice showing up to my wedding in the EXACT same dress that I wore to my bridal shower. Not only was it the same dress, it was also a solid, extremely pale blush/off white colour."

The bride went on to say how she felt it was a deliberate move as the guest is "very opinionated about fashion and etiquette". She went on to add how, to her annoyance once again, the guest and her partner left early and gave them an unsigned cheque as a wedding gift.

She added: "The final straw was the wedding gift which was an unsigned check that we could not cash. My SO had to yet again reach out to Alice and let her know. She apologized and had us mail it back to her to sign. I try not to assume that things are done intentionally but Alice was continuously the ONLY wedding guest that we had any issues with. I'm glad it's over."

People were quick to sympathise with the bride and slammed the guest as being "jealous". One person said: "She sounds completely jealous that you are the first to get married. Sounds like she can't watch you being the center [sic] of attention." Another said: "I think Alice was very jealous and probably wanted to be married first or something." A third warned the bride that 'Alice' was "not her friend".
