Stacey Solomon admits she keeps her sons' severed foreskins in memory boxes as she can't let go - and she'll never get rid of them.

The 33-year-old Loose Women presenter, who shares a blended family with husband Joe Swash, is gearing up to host her third series of the BBC's Sort Your Life Out show, which helps families declutter their living spaces and helps them let go of unnecessary possessions.

But behind the cameras, Stacey confesses she's got just the same problem being unable to get rid of cherished belongings... even if not everyone agrees they should be kept.

“I've got [the kids'] umbilical cords,” she admits to the Mirror. “I think I’ve got the boys’ foreskins somewhere. Dilly [her co-organiser on Sort Your Life Out] absolutely rips me to shreds over that, she’s like, ‘What is wrong with you?!’”

"They've all got each individual memory boxes. So I hold on to them in their memory boxes alongside little trinkets."

Her boys - Zachary, 15; Leighton, 11; and four-year-old Rex - can't understand why their mum clings on to old memories, but she admits it's because she has an emotional attachment to certain things that represent core memories.

"F or me, my emotional things are the kids' memories. But we've been through our memory boxes before and they're like, ‘Don’t even remember that, Mum, what is that?’ And I’m like, ‘That’s the ticket from that time we went to the cinema, don’t you remember?!’

"They say, ‘Nah, why’s that there?’ Kids are brutal. But they're not at that stage in their life where they have responsibilities. Whereas when you get older, you start realising that time is a thief. And it goes bloody quickly and things change instantly. So you do hold on more as you get older, I think.”

Stacey also shares daughters Rose, one, and baby Belly, six months, with Joe, who she met in Australia during the 2010 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, which she won. EastEnders actor Joe was hosting the spinoff series Extra Camp at the time, and the pair hit it off - but they didn't get together until 2016 after Stacey's split from Jackass star Steve-O.

But moving in together and becoming a blended family - Joe is also dad to 15-year-old Harry from a previous relationship - has been harder than it looks on Stacey's perfectly curated Instagram account, she admits.

"Moving in with someone is so different from being in a relationship with them, it’s a whole other level of getting to know someone," she laughs. "I know if I need to get up at a certain time, I need to achieve A, B and C, so before I start I need to have my toothbrush here. But Joe doesn’t function like that. He’s happy to have all his toiletries in a bag and just rummage through it every morning. Sometimes I look at that ugly bag with all his crap in it and I need to clean it. But I have to get over it! It’s not my bag! We have a bit of compromise.”

The 'compromise' mostly consists of Joe being too scared to touch a room she's just sorted out. “If I ever organise anything, he then won't use that cupboard,” she snorts. “He's like, ‘I just don't know how to put it back.’ Our brains are total opposites."

Being away from their 2.5-acre Pickle Cottage always means Stacey is wary of what she'll come back to. "If I go away for work, I absolutely expect the house to just be something else when I go home," she chuckles. "It's not like he's a a pig and chucks everything everywhere. But I'm meticulous and he's not me.

"It's a bit of a tall order to expect him to live up to my standards of how I like things done, when actually how he does things are pretty regular and there's nothing wrong with that!"

*Sort Your Life Out series 3 starts on Thursday September 7 at 8pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
