Emmerdale fans 'rumble' village heartbreak as character returns

Emmerdale fans think there could be heartbreak in store for one couple as a character returns to the village this week on the ITV soap.

Soap watchers will recall Gabby Thomas recently left the village to go on a long holiday to get over her heartbreak following her split from fiancé Nicky. Prior to her break, Gabby was left devastated after she discovered her fiancé Nicky was gay and using her to get an in at Home Farm.

While earlier this month, Gabby, who was still struggling with Nicky's admission, leant in to kiss Dawn Fletcher's husband Billy, leaving him horrified as he rejected her advances. However, Gabby is set to return to the village this week as she's back from her holiday with the character and Billy both agreeing to keep their indiscretion a secret.

Soap watchers have been left fearing that despite Gabby's promises to keep things a secret, she might actually plan to split Dawn and Billy. Taking to social media, one person said: "So she's going to break up Dawn and Billy!", a different account put: "Gabby should leave billy and dawn alone don’t need Gabby try to break up for no reason" while another added: "He ought to tell Dawn the truth...before Gabby turns it around one day and claims he hit on her. She can't be trusted #Emmerdale."

Elsewhere, a different account put: "Billy should be honest about gabby trying to kiss him #Emmerdale" while another fan added: "Of course she was going to make a move, he rejected her so she’s going to be typical Gabby and tell dawn he made a move on her just to cause a bit of trouble #emmerdale."

It comes as Gabby star Rosie Bentham explained why her character tried to kiss Billy. "It was a moment of madness that she comes to regret. She’s seeking validation from any man. She’s completely lost; I just picture Gabby waking up in the morning and feeling like her life is chaos," she told Inside Soap magazine.

Speaking of what's to come, she shared: "She needs to reset. Heartbreak can be long and tedious but she knows that she needs to get it all out. The tears need to come. Hopefully she’ll come back with a different head on with regards to the Nicky situation," but it looks like it won't be plain sailing as Rosie added: "Gabby has a lot on her plate and the next few months are chaotic."
