Ryan Gravenberch has conceded that he "doesn't know" whether or not he will leave Bayern Munich before Friday night's transfer deadline.

The Dutch midfielder, 21, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with both Liverpool and Manchester United known to be admirers of the former Ajax star.

Gravenberch, who was given his senior debut by Erik ten Hag in Amsterdam, made just three starts in the Bundesliga last season and is keen to play regular football this season. Both Liverpool and United are monitoring Gravenberch's situation ahead of the transfer deadline - but even the man himself is unsure whether or not he'll be given the green light to move on.

When he was quizzed about his future over the weekend, Gravenberch admitted: “I don‘t know what will happen in the next days.”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Gravenberch's future, it does appear as though the youngster could be on the move before Friday night. According to German outlet Bild, Bayern Munich are currently in talks over a swap deal involving Gravenberch and Scott McTominay, who would be allowed to leave Old Trafford under the right circumstances.

If negotiations advance, it would be a major blow for Liverpool after Mirror Football revealed earlier this year that they had reached an agreement with Gravenberch over personal terms.

Despite agreeing to several of Gravenberch's demands back in April, reports earlier this month claimed that the midfield maestro would also consider moving to the Reds' bitter rivals amid interest from United.

Regardless of his transfer preference, Gravenberch has already spelled out that he has no desire to spend another season sitting on the sidelines in Germany.

In an interview with Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf last month, Gravenberch said: “It may be that there are plans with me. I haven't really talked to the coach about that yet, that will come after the [Under-21] European Championship when I'm back from Georgia and Romania. Then we will see how it is.”

Jurgen Klopp is believed to be hopeful of signing another midfielder before the transfer deadline. The Reds have also been linked with Sofyan Amrabat - another player who has been extensively linked to Manchester United - in recent weeks and could firm up their interest if a deal for Gravenberch eludes them.
