Jonnie Irwin enjoys holiday with beloved family after terminal cancer diagnosis
Jonnie Irwin enjoyed a brief holiday with his beloved family as he continues to soak up quality family time after his terminal cancer diagnosis.
The A Place in the Sun star, 49, was given six months to live back in 2020 when he was told he had lung cancer, which has since sadly spread to his brain. But he's not letting his health get in the way of spending time with his loved ones. Taking to Instagram, sharing a carousel of photos of his sister, Amanda, wife Jessica and kids Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac in Beadnell, Northumberland, Jonnie told his fans he had "Just grabbed a few days up the coast". He added in the caption: "Rain or shine Beadnell always impresses."

In another, Jonnie, wearing shades, enjoys a Feast ice cream with his son. In a third, his wife Jessica kneels on a paddle board with Rex, surrounded by a sea of yachts in the picturesque setting while in a fourth the four-year-old tries his hand at surfing, looking like he'd mastered the sport with ease.
The presenter's followers loved Jonnie's holiday snaps with many telling the dad-of-three what an inspiration he was. One said: "What an incredible man and inspiration!" Another wrote: "Good for you Jonnie, quality time with your family, the best!" While a third replied: "Cutest dang family!"

Jonnie's son tried his hand at surfing (Inatagram)Jonnie recently praised the versatility of the NHS after he was asked to attend an MRI and CT scan to monitor his terminal cancer. The former rugby player wasn't prepared for the unlikely venue for the check-up as patients are usually asked to attend specialist hospitals for scanning. Taking to Instagram to reveal his shock when he discovered he was off to a portable scanner located at a nearby leisure centre car park, the father-of-three praised the NHS for its versatility.

In a video shared with his 205,000 followers, Jonnie said: "I got some scans today. Not in a hospital but in a leisure centre car park. MRI and CT unit. In this, surprising." Captioning his upload, Jonnie wrote: "I actually had a great experience. We were able to park almost on the doorstep, no queue and done n dusted in under 15 minutes. Well done #nhs."
The star's upload racked up over 16,000 likes from fans, who flooded the comments section all complimenting Jonnie on how well he looked. One wrote: "You look really amazing Jonnie. Keep fighting all your fans have their hands on your back." Another said: "So glad it all went ok and was a positive experience for you! Scanxiety is a real thing, I know from experience, but when you have a good experience it certainly helps with future scans," said a third. While a third said: "You look great. Good luck keeping everything crossed."
