Man praised for response after spotting woman being harassed by creepy strangers
Being a woman can come with a host of problems, not least having to fend off unwanted attention from men. Thankfully, more often than not, kind strangers will often step in and help if they see someone getting harassed in the street.
That's exactly what happened when a man spotted a woman filling up her car with petrol while asking two men to leave her alone. Clearly uncomfortable with the situation and appearing to be on her own, the man, named Cody Bret, decided to take matters into his own hands and see if she needed assistance.
Taking to Instagram to share the story in the hope of inspiring others to do the same, he wrote: “Today while at the gas station, I overheard a lady in her late 20s telling two other men to leave her alone.” Coming up with a story on the spot, he went over to the woman and asked: “How was the meeting today darling?” Although a little surprised by his question, she carried on the ruse, with him revealing: “She looked at me and said ‘It was good, I'll tell you more about it when we get home in a few’. I replied ‘Wonderful I'll pick up your favourite for dinner’.
“The two guys left in a hurry and she told me ‘You have no idea how much that meant to me, thank you’. I said ‘You're very welcome ma'am, you can never be too careful’. I made sure the guys left before I walked back to my car and as I was walking back all I could do was think ‘I hope a man does that for my future daughter one day’.”
Cody, who says in his social media bio that he’s a relationship coach and writer, was quickly inundated with comments from people praising him for what he did. One person wrote: “That’s truly lovely of you to protect that young lady like you did, she must have been so very glad you were there at that moment. It’s funny how things turn out sometimes and I hope karma catches up with those young men for harassing this poor young woman.”

Another person added: “You realise you saved her life, most men would have walked on by, not you because you care about people. You're one in a million.” And someone else wrote: “I have a daughter, and I would hope that someone would step in and help her if she needs. You are absolutely precious, sir!”
