McDonald’s fans will be keen to know if they’ll still be able to get their Big Mac fix this August bank holiday Monday.

There is a bank holiday in England and Wales on August 28 and this means the opening times of your favourite shop or restaurant may change. If you live in Scotland, the summer bank holiday was celebrated on August 7.

McDonald’s has around 1,300 restaurants across the UK - but will they be open as normal this Monday? We explain what you need to know, including how to find the opening times of your local branch.

McDonald’s August bank holiday opening hours

McDonald’s opening times vary across the UK. Before you leave your home, you’ll need to check the exact hours of your local restaurant by using the McDonald’s online finder tool. The below opening times are just a rough guideline.

When we checked its opening times tool today, it seems the majority of McDonald’s restaurants will be open under their normal hours this bank holiday Monday. Some restaurants open at 5am or 6pm, before closing at 11pm or midnight. Others are open 24-hours.

In other news, McDonald's has just announced the prizes that will be up for grabs when its Monopoly game returns next month - including £100,000 in cash and free TUI holidays.

McDonald's Monopoly returns on September 6. In order to take part, customers have to purchase a qualifying menu item to collect game pieces. Each game piece represents roads and train stations, just like the classic board game. Once you collect a set, you win a prize - the rarer that set is (so if fewer pieces are made) the better the giveaway will be.

The fast food chain is currently running its summer menu, which includes the brand new McCrispy Deluxe burger, the BBQ Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and the BBQ Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Cheesy Garlic Bites, and Galaxy Salted Caramel McFlurry and Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry.

In addition to the new menu, McDonald's has expanded its popular loyalty scheme by bringing a new tier of Rewards to customers.
