Strictly's Amy Dowden sent outpouring of love as she shares latest health blow
Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has shared her happiness over being allowed to leave hospital to go home to her own bed as she continues to receive cancer treatment - but also explained she was suffering more side-effects from her treatment.
The 33-year-old Welsh dancer - who has been one of the professional dancers on the long-running BBC dance competition since 2017 - revealed back in May that she had been diagnosed with grade III breast cancer. After undergoing a mastectomy, the star later revealed that she had been diagnosed with a further form of cancer that required her to undergo chemotherapy treatment.
As a result, Amy will sadly be missing out on the upcoming 21st season of Strictly as she continues to be treated. She has been keeping her fans and social media followers updated on her health battle and this week shared details from hospital.
She had explained that she was receiving chemo treatment - and has now updated to tell her fans she will now be able to leave hospital, but also revealed she is suffering from blood clots after her latest round of chemotherapy. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Amy shared an upbeat selfie of herself in a hospital bed, rafting a thumb up to the camera and posing with a smile.
