Christine McGuinness reportedly still holds a lot of love for ex-husband Paddy, despite being papped locking lips with pal Chelcee grimes.

The model turned TV star split from funny man Paddy McGuinness over a year ago, but the pair were recently spotted celebrating his 50th birthday together after he marked the milestone last week.

But while Paddy is still Christine’s “acting husband” as the former couple continue to co-parent twins Penelope and Leo, 10, and six-year-old Felicity, the mum-of-three is said to be “loving the freedom of not being tied down”.

Although they have formally split, Christine and Paddy continue to live in the same house in Cheshire together for the sake of the kids, but she has been enjoying holidays with pals and her career is going from strength to strength.

As well as hosting her own podcast, the 35-year-old made a documentary about her autism diagnosis called Christine McGuinness: Unmasking My Autism – and has been presenting radio shows, most recently in Liverpool this week.

Reflecting on their relationship a year after they announced their shock split, a source told OK! magazine: “Paddy is still her ‘acting husband’ as they’re continuing to maintain a united front for the kids.

“Though Christine still loves Paddy for the sake of their kids and they’re the perfect co-parenting partners, she’s loving the freedom of not being tied down and being able to enjoy a snog and a giggle whenever she wants.”

The Mirror has reached out to Christine's reps for further comment on this story.

In a joint statement last summer, the pair said: "A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.

"This was not an easy decision to make but we're moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We'll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”

As Paddy celebrated his 50th, Christine took to Instagram to clear up speculation she had missed his birthday after being pictured in Ibiza with Chelcee and other pals.

Explaining that her holiday was “over a week ago”, she wrote: “Patrick is my ex, my ex of well over a year (let me remind you, I did not cause the breakdown of our marriage). I’ve never spoken about this fully, I will also remind everyone that I am not silenced and will speak if/when I choose to.”

She revealed she had got Paddy a “birthday cake, presents and made cards with our children to celebrate Daddy’s birthday” and said she was “just a mum doing the best she can whilst living with her ex going through a divorce”.

Appearing on Radio City in her hometown of Liverpool this week, Christine dropped more details about her past – including her first ever job – and joked there were a few men in her life before she met Paddy.

She said: “My first job was at Liverpool Airport. Only lasted about two weeks because I wanted to be an air hostess and then I realised I was scared of flying, so. I liked the uniform, though, so I kept it.”

Co-host Wes Butters then asked if there were any old flames that might be listening on the radio to which Christine jokingly replied: “There’s a whole cemetery out there waiting.”
