Kate's relatable fail while back-to-school shopping with George and Charlotte
With many children entering the final few weeks of their school summer holidays, they will begin to think about their return to class.
And royal children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be no different. Although they are still believed to have a trip to Balmoral on the cards, it will only be a matter of weeks before they are headed back to Lambrook School.
The trio started at the school last year after the Wales family moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor and no doubt hands-on mum the Princess of Wales will be making sure they all have the correct uniforms and equipment.
Kate, whose children will be going back to school in a few weeks (PA)This might mean a trip to the shops with her youngsters to kit them out with new clothes and shoes. And it appears that when Kate previously went to get George and Charlotte fitted for new school footwear, it wasn't all plain sailing - and she made one common mistake.
In 2018, she was spotted with her two eldest children in tow shopping at the Peter Jones department store in London. And a source told Hello! that Kate forgot to take socks for George and Charlotte to wear when they were trying on their new shoes. The youngsters were wearing their summer sandals when they went to pick out their new shoes. So like many mums before her, Kate had to borrow socks from the store so she could make sure she was buying them in the correct sizes.

Their new school is a day and boarding school for boys and girls aged from three to 13 years. The Wales children are day pupils for now.
There they can enjoy facilities such as the school’s own orchard, woodland, a nine-hole golf course, a 25-metre swimming pool, as well as a cricket pitch. Pupils can even try their hand at polo. However, it could be in a few years that George leaves Lambrook - and follows in the footsteps of dad Prince William.
That's because earlier this summer, the 10-year-old was spotted visiting Eton, his dad's former school, where fees cost £46,000 a year. Kate was seen talking to two employees of the famous and historic school while wearing an elegant aquamarine dress and ballet pumps, Hello! reports. William was the first senior royal to go to Eton and was followed by brother Harry who was also educated there between 1998 and 2003.
It is one of three public schools to have remained boys only, alongside Harrow and Radley, and has educated the likes of George Orwell and Eddie Redmayne. It also counts 20 British Prime Ministers along with its alumni, including Boris Johnson and David Cameron.
