A restaurant worker is accused of throwing hot grease in the face of his colleague.

A man has been arrested and is held on multiple charges after allegedly attacking his coworkers at a restaurant causing severe burn injuries to at least one of them.

Thomas Cobb threw hot grease in another person's face during their shift last Friday, February 17, at a Zaxby's eatery located by a highway in a town called Walhalla in South Carolina, US, police said.

Officers from the Walhalla Police Department were called to the scene after receiving a report of a physical altercation.

Cobb was charged with multiple offences for attacking his co-workers at a Zaxby's restaurant in Walhalla.

A report seen by WYFF News 4 said the victim had severe burns and skin missing from his face, eye, hands, shoulder and back.

Cobb was arrested while the victim was taken to a burn centre for treatment.

During their investigation, officers spoke to Cobb, who admitted that he had been drinking on the job and got into an argument with one of the victims.

He also admitted to throwing something at them, but he claimed he didn't realise it was hot.

The officers also interviewed the other two victims, who reported that Cobb hit one of them, while he grabbed the other one around the throat.

Cobb was charged with two counts of assault and battery in the third degree and one count of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

The severity of the charges indicates that the alleged actions of the suspect caused significant harm to his victims.

More information on the condition of the victims and the injuries they sustained has not been released as of yet.
