I found my favourite chocolate flavoured rum and the bottle is adorable
I've always been undeniably a chocolate lover. As a child I would request chocolate cake for breakfast every morning and it has been a first choice snack for years, so it's no surprise that when I found out I was allergic to dairy and therefore most chocolate goods I was disappointed.
As an adult I've been finding more and more options to satiate the chocolate craving without causing a reaction, my favourite being in the form of drinks. Whether that's a vegan hot chocolate or something a little stronger I've been finding myself an undeniable fan.
After how much I loved the Project #173 Butterscotch Rum, I was curious about the rest of the range so I had to get my hands on it. My next favourite bottle from the range of flavours has to be the Chocolate version.
The boiling point of alcohol is 173.1 degrees fahrenheit, hence the name of the Project #173 rum brand. All of the bottles from the range come in a rectangular bottle with a paint swatch on the front indicating the flavour at a glance. There's also a piece of 23 karat gold leaf.
When smelling the drink initially there's a strong mocha note with it reminding me of coffee more than I expected. That said the chocolate smell takes the forefront.

I think Project #173 rums are best served neat or over ice - of a summer I definitely prefer over ice so that's how I've been drinking this.
The opening sip is pure dark chocolate but it's sweetened with an almost honey like note which I think is perfect for a chocoholic. It reminds me a little of Mozart Dark with the thin consistency and sweet flavour.
It's not overly sweet which is my preference of a spirit as I feel you can sweeten as needed. There's a chocolatey mouth feel that I quite enjoy with a rich finish. I am always impressed by how smooth this range is.
You can buy Project #173 Chocolate Rum in a number of places at the minute, including Master of Malt and Amazon. Please remember to drink responsibly.
