Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have reportedly parted ways after only one year of marriage, and despite the news of their split only emerging overnight, Sam was spotted without his wedding ring two weeks ago.

The Princess of Pop's husband, 39, is believed to have filed for divorce from the Toxic singer, 41, with them said to have parted ways after a "nuclear" argument amid cheating rumours. And not only are the pair "heading for divorce", but Sam is said to have moved out of the marital home also.

And now in resurfaced snaps from only a fortnight ago, it has been uncovered that Sam ditched his wedding ring weeks before the split news emerged. Taking to Instagram on July 31, Sam shared a snap of him sitting beside his mother, who had endured an accident and was recovering from it at the hospital.

Sharing a snap of him and his mum on Instagram, Sam beamed while protectively wrapping an arm around his mother. With his left hand in his lap, his wedding ring-less finger was clearly apparent. Meanwhile, the second snap from the post then saw his mum in a hospital bed, while the third was the announcement of her accident.

The message announcing the accident read: "Today my mother was involved in a major accident. She was taken to the emergency room. With the amazing help of the medical staff and some friends she's doing okay and resting it off."

Meanwhile, the caption of the three slides read: "I'm so grateful for the love and support you guys had during Mama Asghari's recovery after the accident. Sending a huge thank you to the amazing medical staff at Cedars-Sinai ER. Moments like these remind us of life's preciousness. Taking a social media break to prioritise what truly matters. See you very soon."

The post came just two weeks before reports swirled that claimed the couple's marriage had hit the rocks recently. According to reports, Sam allegedly approached Britney about cheating rumours. While it isn't clear if the rumours are true, the source told TMZ that what ensued was a heated argument.

And Sam isn't the only one to have ditched his wedding ring, because Britney has since been photographed driving near their LA home without her wedding ring. The Toxic singer also broke her silence with an unrelated Instagram post in which she talks about buying a horse.
