EastEnders fans have 'worked out' a huge twist which 'leads to Theo being the Christmas victim'.

We know that this festive season that one man will die in unusual circumstances on Sharon's wedding day. The six matriarchs of Walford - Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) - are all faced with the body, but what happened to lead to the man's demise, and was it murder?

Fans have been speculating for months about who the dead body could be and what happened to him. Some have speculated Theo could die; he has been stalking Stacey online and in person under a different name.

Now some viewers are convinced Theo could try and target Stacey's pal Eve, as fans took to social media to share their theories on what Theo had planned and how they think it could lead to the teacher's death at the end of the year.

One fan said: "I was hoping that Eve would pick up the creepy vibes from Theo. #EastEnders."

And in response, another viewer shared: "I have a new theory! What if Theo attacks Eve or has her framed and sent back to jail ... that could be discovered later and give both Suki and Stacey motives to attack him at Christmas ... I still think the big mystery will be a whodunnit though so dunno why the other 4/6 would. #EastEnders."

"I could see that happening. Theo has been letting his guard slip a little recently. The way he looked at Eve, I can see him going after her because she is Stacey's wife. #EastEnders," a third penned on social media.

Fans keen to work out what happens have been urged by the show's executive producer Chris Clenshaw to watch the flashforward scene much closer as there were multiple clues in the teaser clip.

"I’m not going to give anything away that the episode hasn’t already given, but what I will say is there were clues in there. Did you look closely? I urge everyone to re-watch the scene and look at every detail," he said.

"There’s also a few treats in the scene if you look hard enough. What I’d also say is that a lot can happen in Walford between February and December – circumstances can change, relationships can change, loyalties can change – so what you may suspect now could be somewhat different as we make our way through 2023 and head towards Christmas.”

*EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One
