Bruce Willis’ wife breaks down in tears in heartbreaking admission over his care
Bruce Willis ’ wife Emma Heming Willis has made a heartbreaking admission after the Hollywood icon was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
The family of the Hollywood icon announced last year that the 68-year-old was given the diagnosis by doctors, after initially suffering from the language disorder aphasia. Bruce’s ex-wife Demi Moore, their three children Rumer, 34, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 29, along with Emma and their daughters Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9, revealed in an emotional statement last year that the Die Hard star would be retiring from acting after he was diagnosed with aphasia.
Sadly, in February, the family confirmed his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, and Bruce was being cared for by medical professionals and loved ones as the Willis brood dealt with the after-effects of his diagnosis.

“I know it looks like I’m out living my best life - I have to make a conscious effort every single day to live the best life that I can,” she explained. She told her fans she wasn’t feeling “good”, but was really trying to get through each day for the sake of her family, and revealed her worries over other people thinking she was doing fine when the reality of her personal life was very different.

So I don’t want it to be misconstrued,” Emma continued, as she began to cry while talking to the camera. “I have to put my best foot forward for the sake of myself and of my family. When we are not looking after ourselves, we cannot look after anyone that we love. So it’s really important,” she added.
The former model confessed it was a “conscious effort” to make time for self-care, telling her fans she was “doing the best I can, always” and urged fellow carers to take five minutes out of their day to do something that made them happy. “I know your day is stressful, and I know that your day is hard, but I just want you to break it up for a minute, and just look for something beautiful,” Emma shared.
The mum-of-two has openly shared the difficulties she and her family face caring for Bruce after his heartbreaking diagnosis, and has tried to raise awareness of carers, as well as frontotemporal dementia. Emma regularly talks about the devastating effects of dementia on social media, and recently launched her Make Time wellness brand which focuses on improving brain and body health through supplements, recipes and tips on reducing stress.
