Manchester United host Barcelona in the second leg of their Europa League knockout clash on Thursday

Barcelona visit Manchester United on Thursday night for the second leg of what has already been a classic Europa League knockout clash.

The two giants played out a thrilling draw at the Nou Camp last week in the first leg of the knockout play-off tie. Barca reached the semi-finals of the competition last season, while United were in the final a year before that.

Thursday's clash is shaping up to be another classic as the two sides battle to reach the last 16, with both teams in impressive form in their respective leagues. Here, Mirror Football rounds up everything you need to know heading into the game.

When is Man Utd v Barcelona?

Manchester United's clash with Barcelona will kick off at 8pm on Thursday, 23 February at Old Trafford.

The two sides met last Thursday in what was an immediate classic, with Marcos Alonso putting Barca ahead. United hit back through Marcus Rashford and took the lead when Jules Kounde put the ball into his own net, though Raphina equalised late on.

The fixture is somewhat of a rarity, with the two clubs only meeting 14 times competitively. United have won three of those games, with five ending in draws and Barcelona victorious on six occasions.

Team news

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is set to be boosted by the return of Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer from suspension after they missed the first leg. Harry Maguire and Antony are also fit again after missing the win over Leicester, but Antony Martial has been ruled out.

Barca chief Xavi is also facing a selection headache, with wonderkids Pedri and Gavi both ruled out. The former picked up a hamstring injury in the first leg, while the latter is suspended after being booked last week.

Veteran club captain Sergio Busquets has been included in the squad though, despite sitting out Sunday's win over Cadiz. The only other change to Barca's squad from the one which was faced United last week is the absence of youngster Angel Alcarcon.
