Mauricio Pochettino wants to end the Chelsea chaos and be given time to build a Jurgen Klopp-style dynasty at Stamford Bridge.

But the Argentine claimed his experiences at Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have made him “more relaxed” about the chances of getting the chop. Pochettino will return to the Premier League on Sunday for the first time since his Spurs sacking in November 2019.

And he is the 10th Chelsea boss to take charge since Klopp was appointed at Anfield in October 2015, near the end of Jose Mourinho's second spell at the club. In that time, Liverpool have won eight trophies and reached another three European finals after Klopp was given nearly four years to win his first title. In the same period, Chelsea have won six - including one Champions League - while continuing to randomly spend huge sums under new ownership.

Asked if he needed to embrace the chaos, Pochettino said: "If that is the impression on social media, with the fans or people outside Chelsea then we need to change that. Now it is about working also to create a different vision and for the people to trust in the club again.”

And before a managerial re-match of the 2019 Champions League final in Madrid, Pochettino admitted his desire to enjoy the same stability as the German and other top Premier League bosses. “This happened with Klopp and it looks like it is with Mikel (Arteta) at Arsenal," he said.

"Manchester City is the best example with Pep (Guardiola). I celebrate that they can have the possibility to be in a place for a long period. I need to work, we need to work, and then it is not my decision if Chelsea want to be in a similar situation like Liverpool or Arsenal or Manchester City now.”

Even though Pochettino acknowledged Chelsea are in transition, he stated: “We need to win and we are going to be ready to win against Liverpool. The mentality is to compete in the best way.”

But asked the targets for this and future seasons, the Argentine said: “It is not a question for me. You will ask the people who brought me here. “What I want to achieve is everything.

“I am not going to spend energy thinking if we achieve this or maybe struggle. After many years working in different clubs, it is like I am more relaxed and more mature and also more experienced. You can only affect the decision of the people if you work really hard and you do the things in the best way that you can.”

Amid the many changes at Chelsea this summer has been Pochettino switching to take the previous away dugout at Stamford Bridge. “It is better to be on the right,” he said
