Carolina Panthers star Bryce Young has provided more insight into his conversation with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Young is preparing for his rookie season in the NFL after being drafted with the No.1 pick by the Panthers in April. He is expected to be the starting quarterback for the NFC South team despite it being his first year in the league.

The Panthers and the Jets took part in a joint practice on Wednesday as each team continued their preparations for the new season. Rodgers, who was traded to the Jets from the Green Bay Packers in April, chatted with Young during practice.

Carolina's young QB has opened up on his chat with Rodgers, who he sees as a source of inspiration going into his rookie season in the NFL. Rodgers has been in the league for 18 seasons, and the effect of that experience was noticeable during the chat with Young.

"When you talk about someone like Aaron Rodgers who's had so much success for so long, any advice that he gives I'm definitely going to be receptive to and listen to," Young told .

"Obviously, you could just tell the command, how in control he is, how confident he is in all that he does, and just the efficiency and the decision-making, making quick decisions.

"[He] knows where to go with the ball and definitely has a great presence about him in the pocket, so again, I have the utmost respect for him."

Rodgers revealed on Wednesday what he and Young spoke about. The veteran QB, who will also be working with another young quarterback in Zach Wilson at MetLife Stadium, says he gave the Panthers rookie advice ahead of his first season in the NFL.

"Be gentle with yourself. It's a long journey," said Rodgers about what he said to Young.

"It feels like every little snap and practice is the end of the world if it doesn't go right. It's just not true. It's a long, long journey.

“It's about holding onto your confidence and enjoying the ride. Enjoying the little things every day. But I think he's got a great head on his shoulders, and he'll be just fine."

The Panthers will play the Jets, New York Giants and Detroit Lions in their three preseason games. That will all be the build-up to the Week 1 opener against NFC South rivals the Atlanta Falcons and Young's debut.
