Meghan Markle preferred quiet holidays on "chic beaches" before she married Prince Harry, it has been revealed.

As Prince Harry enjoys a tour around the world, with him arriving in Japan yesterday, Meghan is presumably at home with their two children Archie and Lilibet. But Harry's fast-paced work trip for the ISPS Sports Values Summit-Special Edition and then a Sentebale charity polo match, might not be up Meghan's street.

The Duchess of Sussex was a blogger and actress before she became a Royal, with the Suits star running her much-loved blog The Tig. On Meghan's website, she would share various posts relating to lifestyle, food and fashion. She also blogged about holidays too.

And according to reports and archived posts, on Meghan's blog - before it was shut down - she previously disclosed her preferred location for a lavish getaway, and it was honestly worlds away from the fast-paced and professional work trips her husband has always been accustomed too.

Back before Meghan married into the British Royal Family, the now-mum-of-two blogged about Saint Barthelemy, which is known as St Barths, with the now-Duchess often gushing over the white sandy beaches and cobbled streets. Writing on her blog in 2014, Meghan penned: "More commonly known as St. Barths, and most generally associated with the yachting, sweater over the shoulder crowd, who sip fine champagne, wear high heeled stilettos with their bikinis, and probably speak French – even if only to ask for la carte des vins. This exists here."

She then added that relaxed locals also exist there too, as well as "a Francophile sensibility that is just as island-esque as it is chic, quiet beaches, authentic creole food, and a place where strolls down cobblestone streets and visits to French pharmacies rival those found in Paris. "

In the blog post, which has been shared on an archived version of The Tig, Meghan shared a string of snaps that saw her and her pals enjoying St. Barths and the gorgeous scenery it had on offer.

She wrote about how she dined at Hotel Taïwana, with her tucking into fresh lobsters that were grilled perfectly, with the meal accompanied by a bottle of rosé. She noted how every morning while on vacation, she would devour a delicious breakfast al fresco before checking some emails, and then exploring.

The Duchess recommended a venture to Grand Saline Beach, adding she could only describe the ocean as "playful, with waves that tease you". She added: "I was the mermaid my friends could not drag out of the sea. With the exception of a rogue nudist galavanting along the seashore, we were the only people on the beach, and it felt blissful."

And then after she swooned over the holiday she shared with her gal pals, Meghan concluded the lengthy entry with: "Without question, St. Barths remains an ultra luxury destination, but with a little scouring, you can find a respite from the fancy fray or dive right in – whatever your pleasure, this island does seem to have it all."
