Blizzard has just rolled out Diablo 4 update 1.1.1 which was set to address a number of issues plaguing the community, with balance changes, bug fixes and more. But one bug has yet to be blasted and it's been a problem for a while now.

Update: The Fury Against Fate bug has now been fixed in Diablo 4 update 1.1.2

Original story: If you've been playing Diablo 4 since launch, you might remember the incredibly annoying bug that reared its head with the Fury Against Fate quest. In a nutshell, Fury Against Fate is the third stage in a series of quests dished out by an NPC called Ealda. You'll know if your game has been affected because when you team up with the Crane Tribe to carry out the mission, the bugged cave barricade barring your way will have an HP bar.

Thankfully, there's a way to fix the Fury Against Fate bug in Diablo 4, although it's a convoluted workaround at best, and you may have to repeatedly run through the steps before they work. The bug has been in-game since June, and there have been a ream of updates since that time – all of which have neglected to zap it.

The first big Diablo 4 patch was update 1.0.3 and it left the Fury Against Fate bug untouched. The next big one we were all waiting on was update 1.1.1, set to fix the endgame issues raised by the community, as well turn the tide for future seasons after a somewhat disappointing debut of Season of the Malignant.

The patch rolled out this week but players looking for a fix for Fury Against Fate are plain out of luck as the bug is still running rampant. Not a good luck off the back of the mountain of problems and disappointments whirling around the game this far. But if there's one positive amidst the community grumblings, it's the transparency of the devs, and Diablo global community development director, Adam Fletcher, has assured players that the bug hasn't been ignored or forgotten. In fact, it's getting fixed this week.

Bug off

Diablo 4 updates have been coming thick and fast since launch, with hotfixes stopping up the gaps where needed. Taking to Twitter, Fletcher confirmed that while patch 1.1.1 didn't resolve the Fury Against Fate bug, we'll be seeing a Diablo 4 hotfix this week that should be taking care of it.

"We will have another hotfix sometime this week to address a few items. I know people have brought up 'Fury Against Fate' still not allowing progress, we will try to get that in this hotfix."

Fletcher also mentioned that the team will also be looking at rarity of Wrathful Invokers which might also be addressed in the hotfix this week.

This week's maintenance schedule isn't showing any planned downtime for the game, so the hotfix should quietly roll out and take care of any problems not addressed in update 1.1.1. We hope.

It's great to finally see some progress on fixing the Diablo 4 Fury Against Fate bug but it just adds to the pile of complaints and concerns that players have been raising since the game launched in June – and that have yet to resolved in a satisfactory way.
