PS Plus August 2023 Extra and Premium packs in two upcoming indie titles
Sony has officially announced the PS Plus Extra and Premium August 2023 free games, and it includes Moving Out 2 and Sea of Stars.
The PS Plus Extra and Premium August 2023 games have finally been announced, with members on PS5 and PS4 being treated to two brand-new titles that will be available on day one when they launch. Subscribers will be able to download a duo of upcoming indie games – Sea of Stars, and Moving Out 2 – on their respective release dates.
Moving Out 2 is up first, launching on Tuesday, August 15 for PS4 and PS5. As part of Smooth Moves’ Furniture Arrangement and Relocation Technicians (F.A.R.Ts), players are tasked with hauling furniture around bizarre locations with challenges that become more deadly as they progress.
The sequel adds additional gameplay elements like online co-op, as well as crossplay so you can start haulin' with friends near or far.
Sea of Stars, on the other hand, won't be available next Tuesday with the rest of the PS Plus August 2023 Extra and Premium games. But you can grab it on launch day a couple of weeks later, on Tuesday, August 29. It's a turn-based RPG inspired by the classics but has a modern spin from developer Sabotage, "offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun," according to the PlayStation blog.
PSVR 2 is already losing to the Meta Quest 2 in the VR headset battle
Alongside those two upcoming titles, PS Plus August 2023 also includes Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. If you made the most of free access to Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion back in February's freebies, now you can delve into this expansion.
Looks like our prediction for more Twisted Metal wasn't on the nose this month, although there are still last month's offerings for fans of the series. But we were right about Lost Judgement. You'll also find Destroy All Humans 2 and Cursed Golf added to this month's catalogue. Bear in mind you'll need vanilla Destiny 2 to play the free DLC.
As usual, Sony announces the PS Plus lineup for the Extra and Premium tiers on the second week of the month, giving you a week's heads up before they arrive. In this case, you'll be able to add the PS Plus August 2023 Extra and Premium freebies to your library next week, on Tuesday, August 15, with the exception of Sea of Stars.
And of course, there's still time to claim your free PS Plus August 2023 Essential games which arrived last week. They include Death's Door, and PGA Tour 2K23 for PS5 and PS4, as well as Dreams for PS4.
The latter is a bargain, given the creative scope of the game. While it's one game, technically you're getting access to thousands for the price of a month's subscription. But back to the PS Plus August 2023 Extra and Premium free games – here's what's in store for both tiers this month.
