Emmerdale fans 'work out' Laurel's escape after being distracted by kidnap twist

Emmerdale fans think they have rumbled how Laurel Thomas could escape from evil Colin's clutches after she was kidnapped on Tuesday night. During the latest episode, Laurel decided to join her new husband, Jai Sharma, in India after Rishi Sharma's death.

However, just as she was about to set off, Laurel's son, Arthur Thomas, begged his mum to retrieve Marshall’s passport from his dad Colin's house as he was too scared to go back and his aunty wanted to take him on holiday.

Laurel then decided to swing by Colin's house on the way to India, planning to send Marshall’s passport at the airport. After noticing the door was open, Laurel let herself in to be greeted by a volatile Colin, who later locked her in Marshall's bedroom and stole her phone.

Prior to being locked in Marshall's bedroom, Laurel had made a cup of tea for herself and Colin as she attempted to listen to the troubled character as he explained his life had "fallen to pieces" and that he missed his son, admitting he hadn't heard from him in weeks.

Soap watchers have pointed out that Laurel should pretend to get Marshall home, asking Colin for a phone, but instead secretly ring his aunty or the police, who could in turn help Laurel escape. Taking to social media, one person said: "Can’t understand why she didn’t play along with him and pretend to get his son home but ring his sister!"

Elsewhere, a different account suggested that Laurel try and escape through Marshall's bedroom window. They wrote: "Laurel, please just..." with a GIF of a window while a different fan added: "SMASH THE DAMM WINDOW LAUREL !! #Emmerdale."

Meanwhile, other viewers were left distracted as to why Laurel would bring her suitcase into Colin's home. Taking to Twitter, one person said: "I'm sure you would ask a taxi driver to wait if you just wanted to nip to someone's house,and had a flight to catch.Then she sat drinking tea knowing she had to find another taxi."

A different account put: "Surely she can't be walking from emmerdale to the airport, why has she dragged her suitcase to his house, either you'd leave it in ur car or taxi", while another follower put: "She said I'll order another taxi, if I was only going to pick up a passport I'd have got that one to wait for me."
