Paul O'Grady's widower Andre Portasio has paid tribute to the late TV star on what would have been their six year wedding anniversary.

Andre marked today as a "bittersweet moment" five months after Paul's sudden death. Taking to his page, he wrote: "It's been five months since he passed away, leaving a massive void that words can hardly describe.

He continued: "Yet, as I reflect on the 18 beautiful years we spent together, I cherish the memories that brought immense happiness into my life. Paul was my rock, my confidant, and my partner in every adventure. Our journey together was nothing short of extraordinary. He taught me the true meaning of love, and I am forever grateful for the precious time we had together."

Fans were quick to offer Andre their condolences. One person said: "Happy anniversary to you both. He's with you every minute of the day in your heart and all the happy memories you made together."

A second person added: Beautiful.. I loved watching Paul and he obviously carried you in his heart. So you were part of that joy to. Glad you found each other."

A third person penned: "Aww beautiful words for a beautiful man.. I am sure Paul is watching over you... the world lost a true legend...sending love to you."

The comedian and entertainer died earlier this year, on March 28, at the age of 67. A family statement by the family at the time of Paul's death revealed the Lily Savage star had died "unexpectedly but peacefully" at his home in Kent.

“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion,” Portasio said at the time. I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.”

Paul was laid to rest on Thursday, April 20. Attendees at the funeral included Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, comedians Alan Carr and Jo Brand as well as actress Linda Henry, who plays Shirley Carter in EastEnders and many more.

Just a day after his funeral, his family took to Instagram to share a statement with his 818,000 followers. It read: “Yesterday was a very sad day. We said goodbye to our beloved Paul O’Grady.

“We thank everyone who despite the weather came to pay their respects at the procession, humans and furry friends. He would have been very humbled. The outpouring of love and kindness over the last three weeks has been truly amazing.”
