Lorraine Kelly's incredibly close bond with daughter after family heartache
Presenter Lorraine Kelly has been on our screens for over 20 years and quickly became a fan favourite. ITV fans are used to hearing her voice on TV as they sip on their teas and get ready for the day. The 63-year-old also found herself getting comfortable on many other programmes including The Last Leg, RuPaul's Drag Race UK and Celebrity Gogglebox.
On Friday evening, viewers will catch a glimpse inside the Scottish star's home as she watches the week's best television with her 29-year-old daughter, Rosie. The mother-and-daughter duo, and their pet dog, were a hit with fans of the series the last time they invited cameras into their home, with one social media user tweeting: "Loving Lorraine, Rosie and Ruby on Gogglebox".
Lorraine has a close relationship with Rosie - who returned to the UK in recent years after living in Singapore for four years. In 2020, her concerned mother broke down in tears on her ITV show Lorraine as she revealed her heartache about their separation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lorraine wanted more children after having Rosie but suffered a miscarriage (Dave Benett/Getty Images)Lorraine shares Rosie with her husband Steve Smith - who she married in 1992. She met him while he worked as a cameraman on one of her early shows and said she knew he was "the one" the moment she laid eyes on him. The couple went on to welcome their first daughter Rosie to the world in 1994 and were hoping to have more children but it sadly wasn't meant to be for them.
Lorraine suffered a miscarriage with her second child and opened up about the tragedy on her ITV show in 2020, following Meghan Markle's admission she experienced pregnancy loss before the birth of her second child, daughter Lilibet. "It was almost exactly the same, having to go to the hospital and the way she talked about it," Lorraine told Dr Hilary Jones as she discussed the Duchess of Sussex's retelling of her own miscarriage. "What really helped me was being able to talk to you obviously and also other people, but also Rosie."

She also appeared on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast where she looked back at the lost opportunities and admitted she felt like she 'failed'. "I think we just sort of ran out of time, and that was the thing I think I find I failed," she said. "Because although I wanted to, I didn't do anything about it.
"We could have gone down the road of getting IVF or surrogacy - there are so many options, but I thought, 'it'll happen. Then before you know where you are, you're going through menopause and it's too late."
Her daughter was just five years old when her parents suffered the loss of her would-be sibling. "I do remember. We were in Dundee," she recalled in a 2015 interview with OK! magazine alongside her mother. "I was in the car with Dad following the ambulance. I was okay, though - I had no idea what was going on."
Lorraine previously complimented her 'amazing girl', Rosie - who recently purchased her first home. The two are so close that Lorraine kept a room in the house for Rosie despite her moving out. "We talk about everything under the sun," said the TV host in an interview with Weekend Magazine. She continued: "I'm her mum, though, I'd never say I was her best friend because she's got her friends already. "I'd love to think she tells me everything but she doesn't."
