Emmerdale characters' forgotten relatives - Nicky and Noah to Amelia and Archie
Emmerdale has a number of iconic families on the ITV soap, with a number of residents growing up in the village too. Several of the characters have links to each other through friends and family, with some families sticking together through the good and the bad.
But some residents on the ITV soap barely appear together, and you'd think they didn't know they were related. A number of residents share some sort of DNA link to each other, but it's never acknowledged.
Fans are often left questioning why certain relatives don't appear to know each other or speak to each other, with them never in scenes together. Even during huge storylines, sometimes family members are not involved.
Here we take a look at those village residents who you might have forgotten are related in some way or another. From cousins to nephews and uncles, there's quite a few...
Emmerdale has a number of iconic families on the ITV soap (ITV)Sarah and Victoria Sugden
Viewers were actually stunned in a recent episode, as Sarah and Victoria finally featured in a scene together. Not only that, but the pair finally acknowledged the fact they are related.

Sarah is Victoria's niece through her adopted brother Andy Sugden. Victoria and her sibling were close, yet she and her niece have very rarely been in scenes together, even throughout Sarah's numerous health battles. Sarah is one of the few if not the only relative of Victoria's still in the village, so perhaps the soap has finally decided to remind the characters they are family.
Samson Dingle and Nate Robinson
Emmerdale fans are often confused when characters appear to forget their within the same familyAnother pairing who barely even speak to each other, despite being part of a close family, are Nate Robinson and Samson Dingle.
Samson is the son of Sam Dingle, while Sam's brother Cain Dingle is Nate's dad. Nate is actually close with Sam and has often turned to him in a time of need. So it is pretty weird that Nate doesn't even talk to Sam's son, especially given they are first cousins.
It isn't just Nate though, as Samson is also the cousin of Cain's other children Kyle, Isaac and former resident Debbie, and he's not really shared scenes with any of them. That said, Nate also rarely sees his younger brothers Isaac and Kyle.
Noah Dingle and Nicky Miligan
Noah Dingle, the son of Chris Tate, was stunned earlier this year to find out Caleb Miligan was related to him via the Tates and not the Dingles. Caleb was revealed to be the half-brother of Chris, making him Noah's uncle. This was acknowledged at the time of the reveal, with Caleb telling Noah it was nice to have a nephew to get to know.
Since then they haven't really had any scenes together, while Noah did stick up for Caleb when Cain tried to kick him out of the village. Someone Noah hasn't interacted with though is his first cousin, Nicky Miligan. Nicky was revealed to be Caleb's son, but while Nicky has gotten to know Chas and Charity, he and his cousin Noah are yet to bond or feature in scenes together.
There's another Tate in this too, Gabby Thomas' baby son Thomas. He's the son of Caleb's other brother Jamie Tate who is no longer in the village. Thomas is Caleb's nephew, making him Nicky's cousin - which is a little weird given Nicky tricked Gabby into a romance.
Noah is baby Thomas' cousin too, yet he hasn't really been in any scenes with him - while this might be down to his creepy behaviour around Gabby a year ago.
Amelia Spencer and Archie Breckle
Fans have picked up on the fact that Amelia Spencer and Archie Breckle never feature in scenes together, despite being cousins. Amelia's mother Ali was the sister of Archie's mother Rachel. Both Ali and Rachel were sadly killed off on the show offscreen in recent years. Despite Amelia having been close with Rachel, and a clear DNA link, she and Archie never even acknowledge each other.
Gabby Thomas and Rodney Blackstock
Some residents on the ITV soap barely appear together (ITV)Rodney Blackstock isn't onscreen as regularly as other characters, but when he is he's often helping out his daughters Bernice Blackstock and Nicola King. Weirdly, he doesn't even seem to be in scenes with his granddaughter Gabby.

Bernice's daughter Gabby has always been close to her grandmother Diane Sugden, Rodney's ex. She nearly moved away with her in 2021, and in upcoming scenes she will visit her.
But Gabby doesn't appear to have this same close bond to her grandfather Rodney. Gabby also rarely appears in scenes with any of her aunt Nicola's children, Gabby's cousins.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
