The Chase host Bradley Walsh made a quick demand to the production team after finding out one of the guests had a royal connection. A recent episode saw the star welcome Charlotte, Ben, Keith and Melanie to the studio to play the game.

Contestants tried their hand at going against Jenny Ryan on Wednesday's instalment. Keith shocked Bradley when his turn was up and he opened up about his family background.

Keith told the host that he has been spending time looking into his family history and found out he's a 'distant royal'. Bradley looked shocked and asked: "Who are you related to?"

The contestant revealed: "I traced my family tree back and 22 generations ago the name Plantagenet cropped up. So for a very good joke, my sister decided to buy me a piece of land in Scotland so I'm Lord Keith of Glencoe."

Bradley, 63, loved the story and decided the studio needed to change the contestant's name on the panel.

"We're going to have to change that now," Bradley said. "We can't just have Keith." The production team worked quickly to change his name to 'Lord Keith' on the panel.

Lord Keith answered five questions correctly and got through to the final chase.

It comes as Bradley opened up about his 'seriously bad' health condition in a recent interview with GB News host, Eamonn Holmes. The presenter said he has an eye condition called blepharitis – which causes swollen, itchy eyelids and often results in the sufferer's eyes being completely stuck together when they wake in the morning.

"People don’t realise I have seriously bad blepharitis," he explained to the former This Morning host. "I have to take one pill a day for it or I really struggle. I am going to need my eyes operated on at some point to sort it out. So many times, people have commented on how I look. But they don’t realise. If I take medication though, I'm fine."

Sharing an update on his health condition in 2020, Bradley admitted he felt 'lucky' after managing to get his cholesterol levels down after doctors warned him of the 'silent killer'.

At the time, Bradley shared: "I was a time bomb. I was quite lucky in regards to the calcium test but my doctor said I produce too much cholesterol. It’s a silent killer. I thought, 'Oh crikey, I’m gonna be bang in trouble here if I don’t lose the weight and start dealing with this'."
