Jake Paul still "traumatised" after being "slapped" by his dad when growing up
YouTuber boxer Jake Paul has claimed his dad Greg used to "slap the s***" out of him as a youngster.
New footage from Jake's 'Untold' Netflix documentary has revealed the rocky relationship he has with dad Greg. Both Jake and brother Logan attribute a lot of their online success to their dad's strict parenting, but the 59-year-old has denied ever laying his hands on both of the brothers.
"Our parents were really strict. Mainly my dad, it was always Logan and I against him. He always said 'Life's not easy, life's not fair," Jake said of his dad. No one will pick you up when you're down.' My dad would slap the s*** out of me. I don't resent it. I'm understanding of why he did that, that's all he knew."

"People would be like 'You're so strict with your kids.' Okay, give me your kids for two weeks and when your kid comes back, they'll be a better kid," Greg said about his parenting. "I never laid hands on my kids. I said 'Jake, I did pick you up and throw you on the couch a couple times'. He would say 'I was afraid of you'. That's what the f*** dad's are supposed to do."

Logan explained that Jake's relationship with their dad took a turn for the worst during a birthday trip to Utah, as disagreements took place over how Greg treated them as youngsters. "Jake's birthday in Utah, we all flew to this cabin. Jake was pretty f***ed up, so was my dad, and Jake mentioned my dad abusing him as a child," Logan said.

We've been through some s***, it wasn't fun. Jake may throw around the word abusive, I prefer not quite legal," Logan added before going on to describe his dad as a menace.
Jake and Logan said their dad's toughness helped spark their creativity, as it led to the pair picking up a camera that eventually skyrocketed them to fame on the now-defunct platform Vine. "Personally, I attribute pretty much all of my success to my father," Logan said. "He was so hard and tough on us, that my brother and I's imagination really started to flare up. So one day, we get a camera and just start filming our lives."
