Tammy Slaton has surprised fans as she revealed the release date for brand new episodes of 1000-lb Sisters.

Season four of the hit TLC show aired in March and ended with Tammy getting married to Caleb Willingham at a food rehabilitation centre. Caleb sadly died earlier this month at just 40 years old.

Taking to TikTok, 37-year-old Tammy shared a long-awaited update with fans after being asked when season five would be airing. Responding to the question, Tammy said: "What people don't know is season four isn't over."

She explained how the new episodes, which will air in December, will focus on a huge storyline, as unseen footage from her wedding ceremony is set to be aired. She added: "My wedding was a two-part thing, so it made season four have more episodes.

"We have part b coming out December 12. So there's still season four but the second part of it."

Fans were divided about Tammy's announcement and took to Reddit to share their thoughts. One disappointed fan said: "Oh no! December is awhile away. I was hoping since it was a split season we'd get more soon."

Another fan said it will be strange to watch scenes in with Caleb. They wrote: "Does anyone want see a wedding where the groom has already passed? I don't."

However, others pointed out how the release date was not up to Tammy. "Not up to her but network," one fan defended.

"It's gonna be a bit weird watching it knowing that they split up and he died before the wedding episode even came out. Oddly fits the show still," another person wrote.

Tammy and Caleb met while she spent 14 months at an Ohio weight loss facility as she worked to overcome her food addiction struggles. Caleb had been staying at the treatment facility for almost a year before Tammy's arrival.

He proposed to Tammy in October 2022 in front of her family and friends. They then said 'I do' at the Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Centre in Ohio in November that year.
