Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been given a "much-needed" opportunity to save their careers, according to an entertainment expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been urged to take advantage of the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, which gives them the chance to "regroup and retool their operations". Members of the SAG-AFTRA union are currently on strike alongside the Writers Guild of America.

Thousands have hit the picket lines for the first industry-wide strike against film and TV studios since 1980. Their aim is to improve pay and working conditions in Hollywood.

Paul Duddridge, producer and entertainment coach, believes Meghan and Harry "should grab this opportunity" after struggling to make an impact in Hollywood. The couple recently suffered a blow after their Spotify deal was axed and it's been reported that they're being "ignored" by Hollywood A-listers.

Despite this, the Sussexes still have a good working relationship with Netflix and Meghan recently signed with renowned Hollywood talent agency William Morris Endeavour. Paul believes the pair still have the chance to make a comeback.

He said: "Harry and Meghan may yet turn out to be beneficiaries of the strike. It will give them a much-needed chance to review their creative strategies while using the industry shutdown as cover."

Paul said the strike "gives them an opportunity to regroup and retool their operations," adding that "Harry and Meghan need to flip the narrative" after their previous projects have received mixed reviews.

Speaking to The Express, Paul suggested their next steps: "They have seemingly worn out the goodwill of the Royal Family and have not set the world alight with their creative output in the US. They are now well-positioned to salvage their image with a critical success in the creative sphere.

"They should grab this opportunity with both hands. It may be their last."

His comments come after it was reported that Meghan has set up shop in a hotel suite close to her new talent agency in Los Angeles. Showbiz correspondent Kinsey Schofield told GB News Meghan now "has her eyes set on bigger opportunities."

"She wants to be a power player in Hollywood and that this is not the direction that Harry has any desire to go," Kinsey added.
