Grieving wife's devastating words as husband electrocuted in freak work accident
The devastated widow of a young electrician who died in a freak accident in Australia has asked her late husband to "watch over her" in a heartbreaking tribute.
Matthew Milner, 24, was found dead on the roof of a property in Perth after he was electrocuted on the job. The power at the home where the electrician died had not been switched off despite the young sparkie being there to install power-points, 9News reported. Matthew's wife Monique posted a photo on Sunday, with the caption: "Always and forever my boy... watch over me whilst I live out the life we were meant to live together."
The couple had been married for just over a year before the freak accident and the widow described the last year as the "best of my life." Matthew's oldest brother Jonatha shared a heartbreaking message to the "beloved son, brother and husband." He said the family was "incredibly saddened" and was struggling to understand why the tragedy occurred.

Matthew, I love you more than words can describe. It pains me to know your laughs, your jokes, our time together as four brothers and a family will now only be memories. It will never be the same without you."
Another woman wrote under the post: "Mon, I'm so sorry. Absolutely shocked. He would light up every room he walked into. Sending you so much love,' one woman wrote." The electrical safety regulator is investigating the incident and Western Australia’s Director of Energy Safety Saj Abdoolakhan extended his condolences to Milner’s family. Sarah, the owner of the home where Matthew died, praised the young man and said just by meeting him once she could tell he was a good person and a hard-working young man.

"Our focus is on determining how this tragedy occurred and whether electricity was a factor", he said. Saj urged people to ensure power was turned off at the main switch before entering a roof space. Reminding people: "This is required by law for any worker entering the roof space of a home due to the potential electrical hazards." Homeowners and occupants should also support this requirement when workers attend their property, Abdoolakhan said.
Monique's father said the pain of losing his son-in-law was "beyond belief." He wrote on social media: "I don't have the words to express how profoundly you changed our lives by making @mon_milner so happy. Family is everything and we will stay strong together to honour your memory."
