Tyreek Hill has reacted to the Miami Dolphins signing Eli Apple as the pair face an awkward reunion.

According to the NFL Network, the AFC East team has acquired the cornerback on a one-year deal. Many were keen to see Hill's reaction to his newest teammate, as he notoriously has a history with Apple.

After discovering who his new teammate was, Hill tweeted: “Monday practice gone be fun,” as he tried to make light of his rivalry with his fellow player. Hill’s injured teammate Jalen Ramsey replied to the tweet and said: “Y’all play nice out there.”

It started when Hill’s former side the Kansas City Chiefs, took on the Cincinnati Bengals during the 2022 AFC Championship game. The Bengals triumphed 27-23, and Apple called Hill "a baby" on Twitter after defeating him to reach that year's Super Bowl.

He also offered to buy Hill and then-Kansas City teammate Mecole Hardman tickets to the game that emanated from California’s SoFi Stadium. The 27-year-old also tweeted: “Oh yea that chiefs cheetah pack finna hit way crazier the 2nd time,” referring to their victory over the Chiefs.

Apple went on to play in the 2022 Super Bowl but his Bengals side lost to the Los Angles Rams 23-20 and he gave up the game-winning touchdown to Rams receiver Cooper Kupp. Hill then tweeted “Got heeee” with a series of laughing emojis as he watched his rival suffer defeat in the sport’s biggest game.

Last season, when the two faced off during a Dolphins–Bengals game, Hill relished the chance to go up against his foe. "I can’t wait to go against Eli Apple, man,” Hill said. “I owe you boy. I owe you. I’m here. The cheetah is here.” Once again Hill was on the losing end as the Bengals won 27-15, but he finished the game with 10 catches and 160 receiving yards.

Apple, who was a free agent, is an ideal signing for the Dolphins and is coming off 15 regular-season games with the Bengals last season as one of the franchises’ primary outside cornerbacks. Over his seven seasons in the NFL, Apple has played for the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and the Bengals.

In 88 career starts along with 10 more in the postseason, the former first-round draft pick has five career interceptions along with 335 tackles, three forced fumbles and 51 passes defended. The Dolphins have added some depth in that department due to the injury sustained by Jalen Ramsey during practice on Thursday.

He had surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee and will be out of action until at least December. Prior to his procedure Friday morning, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel believes his roster can still flourish in Ramsey's absence.

"I feel good about the entire crew," McDaniel said. "We are dealing with some injuries now in that group. But I feel very, very good about the competition there, and the guys that are ready to go see some more opportunities. There's Pro Bowlers and hungry young guys and everything in between. So it'll be outstanding work for us moving forward."
