Bayern Munich chiefs chose to push back their transfer meeting with Tottenham after their flight plans were identified, according to reports.

The German club were due to send two leading lights, chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and the technical director Marco Neppe, to north London to continue discussions over a move for Harry Kane, who is Bayern's top target. They've already seen a bid for the striker, who has less than a year remaining on his deal, rejected.

Two individuals from the German champions were set to fly in to the English capital at 10am on Friday before returning to Bavaria the same evening. German publication Bild reports that those plans were axed on Thursday evening after fans spotted the scheduled travel arrangements on flight radar sites.

Sky in Germany report that the unplanned delay will not hamper their efforts to sign Kane with a date already in the diary for next week. The England international has just enjoyed one of his best Premier League seasons to date, adding to his appeal.

Bayern were forced to let Robert Lewandowski leave last summer and haven't yet been able to bring in a marquee No 9. Tottenham have placed a hefty price tag on Kane, which has warned off potential suitors given he'll be available for nothing next summer.

Those in Germany are confident however that an agreement can be found. The Telegraph reports that the Bavarians are willing to use teenage star Mathys Tel in negotiations with Tottenham already enquiring about him this summer.

Bayern are prepared to pay up to £86m to sign Kane, who will soon turn 30. Sources claim Daniel Levy has already agreed a deal with PSG, who are prepared to outbid any competition this summer, but Kane is not keen on a move to Paris.

New Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou admits the situation is very much playing on his mind. "Fair to say I am not relaxed about it," said the Australian. "It's not something where you go: "Ah, well, you know if it does or doesn't happen." I mean he's a very important part of this football club, not just the team, but the football club. He's such a massive figure.

"And, whilst my focus isn't on it on a daily basis because I've got other things I need to do, I know that every time I'm talking, or whenever Harry is going to talk, that's the first question you are going to get. So, you've got to deal with it."
