Jalen Ramsey is targeting an 'end of season push' for himself and his Miami Dolphins teammates, despite suffering an injury during a training camp session on Thursday.

The Dolphins have been dealt a huge blow, after star man Ramsey was ruled out of training after picking up a meniscus injury. The 28-year-old will now reportedly undergo surgery on his knee in Friday, and is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks heading into the regular season.

Ramsey - an offseason recruit from LA Rams - picked up the injury whilst taking part in a 11-on-11 training drill. He was defending against wide receiver Tyreek Hill on the play, before clutching his knee and falling to the floor. The 28-year-old attempted to carry on, but was later taken out of the session.

Despite the knock back, Ramsey has remained positive and has his eyes on joining his Dolphins teammates later down the line in pursuit of a second successive trip to the postseason under head coach Mike McDaniel.

Taking to social media, he wrote: "I’ll be back on that field stronger than ever… in due time! This SO minor for God’s child! I trust fully & know He got me! Im forever grateful to worship His name! I know my brothers gone hold it down until I’m back tho!

"Appreciate the love & support! Time to get right!" Before going on to add in a second post: "That end of the season push gon be legendary!" If the Dolphins are to make a push for the playoffs this season, there is no doubt Ramsey will be key to their success.

This is not the first time the Dolphins man has suffered a meniscus problem during his NFL career. Back in 2016, Ramsey sustained the same injury in his right knee as a rookie. The injury seven years ago saw him miss six weeks following an operation, and he will be hoping for a similar timeline this time around.

Following their preseason outings in August, the Dolphins will kickoff their NFL regular season on September 10 with a trip to the Los Angeles Chargers, following by games with the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos.
