Sinead O'Connor's cause of death not yet announced after star found unresponsive
Sinead O'Connor's cause of death has yet to be announced after it was revealed she was found unresponsive at home.
The Irish singer's family confirmed the news of her death on Wednesday evening with a statement that read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."
It was recently announced that police were called to her home in Lambeth in southeast London on Wednesday morning following a report of an unresponsive woman at the home. However, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is not being treated as suspicious. The cause of her death has not yet been announced.
The full statement from the police read: "Police were called at 11:18hrs on Wednesday, 26 July to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address in the SE24 area. Officers attended."
Sinead passed away at the age of 56 (Redferns)"A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner," it continued.

Sinead is survived by her three children, Jake Reynolds, 34, Roisin Waters, 27, and 16-year-old Yeshua Bonadio. Her son, Shane Lunny, died aged 17 last year. In her final social media post, Sinead tweeted a picture of her late son and wrote: "Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul."
She also posted a video of herself at the beginning of the month and discussed her late son, Shane, and showed the star discussing the toll her teenage son's suicide took on her and her body.
Police confirmed she was found unresponsive at her London home (Redferns)In the clip shared on July 9, Sinead filmed herself to verify her account and explained what her son's death had done to her. "I'll make a video because some of you are saying you don't believe it's my account, it is my account. But fret not, I'm going to be a good girl," she said.
She went on to say she filmed the video in HD and added: "I look like s**t either way which is why I didn't want to make a video. But you know the way your kid, unfortunately, passes away, it isn't good for one's body or soul to be fair. But anyways, let's not dwell on that."
