Diablo 4 developers are scrabbling to get the game into a suitable shape after the disastrous Season 1 update that rolled out a slew of changes that have ruffled players' feathers.

With the promise of another Diablo 4 developer livestream on the horizon – specifically the campfire chat announced for this Friday – players are keen to hear what Activision Blizzard intends to do about the current state of the game. Patch 1.1.0a introduced the Season 1 content and the changes weren't well received to say the least. The community was livid at the nerfs to the five classes, with the Barbarian and Sorcerer taking the brunt of them.

The devs themselves have admitted that Diablo 4 Season 1 is ‘not the greatest play experience’ and have said that further updates and hotfixes are planned in the immediate future to address player concerns. Since the initial Season 1 patch last week, a smaller update followed with patch 1.1.0b specifically for Season of the Malignant, ensuring that Malignant Hearts "now always grant armor that directly maps with their item power", as well as removing level requirements for World Tiers 3 and 4.

The patch to set things right is expected next week – likely dropping on Friday, August 4 at 7pm BST / 2pm EDT / 11am PDT. In the meantime, Diablo 4 global community development director, Adam Fletcher, has said on Twitter that "some hotfixes & a small client patch" will be rolling out this week to fix bugs – so don't expect anything above and beyond that.

Diablo 4 patch 1.1.0c has been pushed out today for all platforms, and you can read the full patch notes below, taken from Blizzard's website. There's scheduled maintenance tomorrow, which is likely laying the foundations for the impending update next week, or hotfixes this week, so be aware that you'll be getting booted from the game once that happens.

Diablo 4 patch notes for update 1.1.0c

  • Fixed an issue where several Focus off-hand items could only have an aspect imprinted on them once.
  • Fixed an issue where combining the Dark Dance and Punishing Speed Malignant Powers could cause the player to stun themselves.
  • Fixed an issue where the Grim Reward Season Journey objective could be repeated by dropping and picking up the same stash.
  • Fixed an issue where the Werebear and Werewolf fur color was too bright in certain situations.
  • Fixed an issue where movement on specific controllers was often not functioning correctly.
  • Updated the activation of the Premium Battle Pass with a confirmation pop-up.
  • The default focus (the button the controller will first highlight) on the Battle Pass screen is now the Season Journey button.
  • Acquiring or re-allocating Seasonal Blessings will now clear the vendor buyback inventory.
  • Fixed multiple instances where players were encountering crashes.
  • Further stability improvements.
  • Fixed an interaction with the Agitated Winds Malignant Heart power which led to automatic Cyclone Armor casts to ignore its own cooldown.
  • Acquiring or re-allocating Seasonal Blessings will now clear the vendor buyback inventory.

As promised, there's nothing terribly exciting in there in terms of balance changes, but at least some bugs have been zapped.
