Alison Hammond made some candid dating confessions on Wednesday's This Morning as she admitted she likes to keep her relationships private and away from social media.

The presenter, 48, opened up as co-star Vanessa Feltz hosted a dating phone in segment. During the ITV show, a caller called Becky phoned in to get advice as her partner doesn't want to go "Facebook official".

To which Vanessa, 61, said that could be seen as a "red flag" as she questioned why Becky's partner doesn't want to be showing them on social media.

However, Alison was quick to question if she too was a "red flag" as she never goes Facebook official with any of her partners.

She said: "I'll be honest with you, I don't like being Facebook official with anybody either. If I'm in a relationship, I like to keep it private.

"A lot of people who you see on Facebook with their relationships, I just don't want to flaunt it for everybody. I want it as a private thing."

Alison added: "I'd obviously be out in public, I'm not ashamed of the partner or anything.

"But I'm a bit funny [about social media] like that. I don't really like being Facebook or public."

Alison then hilariously asked Vanessa: "Am I a big red flag Vanessa, am I a big red flag? I like to keep them private..."

To which Vanessa replied: "You're just a big loveliness, you're a loveliness."

This Morning viewers were quick to agree with Alison as one person said: "I’m the same as Alison. I’ve got no lovey dovey pics of me and my man on Facebook and we’ve been together 11 years.

"I hate all that s**t. I like to keep it private. All the people that matter to us know we’re in love. #ThisMorning."

Elsewhere during the show, Alison was quick to give Vanessa advice as they discussed Celebs Go Dating.

Vanessa is one of the stars looking for love on the 2023 series of Celebs Go Dating following a devastating split from her cheating younger ex earlier this year.

The presenter's engagement to singer Ben Ofoedu, 51, ended in February after he admitted being unfaithful and sexting a second woman.

But now Vanessa is seeking a new love on Celebs Go Dating and Alison, who appeared on the E4 series in 2020, was on hand to give advice.

Alison said: "You know what, the producers are so lovely on that programme, they really look after you!"

Asked how she found the experience Alison, who had a brief romance with Ben Kusi after meeting on Celebs Go Dating in 2020, spilled all.

She said: "I loved it, I loved going on the lots of little dates. We went off to the Dominican Republic and we had a holiday. You go on loads of dates and then you choose somebody to go on holiday with then you take that date across."

However, asked if she's still in touch with Celebs Go Dating's Ben, whom she took on the holiday, Alison simply replied: "No!"

Speaking about her dates on the show so far, Vanessa admitted she's "too nervous" to eat anything.

To which Alison had some valuable advice for her co-star, she said: "You know what you should do... sit back and let them talk to you.

"Sit back, you don't have to do any talking, you talk all day long on your show, this show. Sit back and let them do the talking."

This Morning continues on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
